Nyome is a model and activist who aims to create a safe space for body positivity and mental health awareness through her work. Born and raised in South London, with her roots firmly grounded in a deep love for her Dominican and Jamaican heritage, Nyome has always loved fashion and has been creative since childhood. Art has always been a passion for her, as she believes it comes in all mediums and forms. "I see myself and my body as art," she says. Unapologetically starting a movement, Nyome was at the forefront of policy change. The #iwanttoseenyome social movement in 2020, following the censorship of imagery posted of Nyome (shot by Alex Cameron), caught the attention of Instagram, and in light of this incredible campaigning, Instagram and its parent company Facebook have officially announced their policy change on how they now assess semi-naked imagery, to ensure all body types, namely black plus size bodies, are treated fairly on both platforms.

Nyome is a crisis ambassador and feels passionate about supporting and collaborating with brands that align with her vision and share her values.

When she is not collaborating with iconic brands such as Dove, Adidas, and Cult Beauty, Nyome advocates for mental health, body equality, and self-care. She embodies the powerful female role model she wishes she had growing up, and she continues to inspire others to believe in and love themselves unconditionally.

 Nyome hopes to challenge conventional beauty standards in the UK and beyond through her platform.
